Dior Bobby Bag Review

Maria Grazia Chiuri has slowly relaxed the formal codes of the house during her tenure at Dior. The brand has been heading in a slightly more casual direction, the latest example being Chiuri’s latest bag, the Bobby. Designed for the Fall 2020 collection, the Bobby is a perfect bag for those who look for a refinement and quality in a casual shape.

The Bobby is available in three sizes: Small (18cm), Medium (22cm), and Large (27cm) and in two materials. In Box Calfskin (a smooth leather with a stunning sheen), black, camel, and a beautiful shade of off white are available and their iconic Oblique print is available in navy. The bag is perhaps the most versatile shape offered by Dior in recent years. All three sizes feature a removable and adjustable shoulder strap enabling the bag to be carried by hand, over the shoulder, and crossbody as well providing the possibility of customizing the bag with different straps.

Bobby is reminiscent of a classic messenger bag, a half moon shaped satchel with a flap, but the devil, as always is the case with Dior, is in the details. Dior’s “30 Montaigne” logo is embossed atop the back pocket (perfect for a cell phone). The front of the bag features the “CD” logo in gold above a buckle and magnet that serves at the closure.  The interior features a crescent opening, limiting the possibility of contents escaping and a slip pocket embossed with the Dior logo.

Bobby has quickly become a favorite in the fashion set, having already been seen on the shoulders of actress Kat Graham, it-girl Caroline Daur and supermodel Romee Strijd, it is only a matter of time until one finds its way into every dedicated Dior client’s closet. Prices from $3,250.
